The Avon Farmers Market was established in 2010 and has become a weekly tradition for residents and visitors. The market is held every Tuesday in the summer months offering a wide variety of local food producers, artists, and crafters. The market is located in a field next to Vacasa Vacation Rentals at 41156 NC Highway 12 in Avon.

The market is sponsored and supported by the Avon Property Owners Association. The APOA is a non-profit organization whose primary purpose is to promote cooperation in all matters that are of interest to the property owners and community of Avon, North Carolina on Hatteras Island.

It is managed by a volunteer operations committee of vendors who see to the day-to-day operations of the market.

Our mission is to create and maintain a market that supports vendors and food producers to bring their products to sell directly to consumers; to bring together families, neighbors and visitors to create a sense of community and social gathering and to establish a vibrant market that is a destination for visitors and locals.
